Sports Massage

If you play regular sports and are exercising frequently, then the answer is yes. If you lead a more sedentary life then the answer is yes too.

A Sports Massage will help iron out pains and strains, decrease blood pressure, promote sporting performance and even improve sleep patterns. Whether you’re considering a massage to improve post-exercise healing, or would like to relieve the stresses and strains of modern life, we’re here to help.

Whilst sports massage is often used to help athletes and active sportspeople to perform at their best, it’s also beneficial for those who experience discomfort and tension in their bodies caused by everyday stresses.

A sports massage not only relieves tension and anxiety, but incorporates a deep tissue massage with soft tissue manipulation. This works deep into the muscles to support healthy muscle growth, improve mobility, ease pain and tension and reduce the risk of injury.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is one of the most commonly offered massage techniques. It’s sometimes called a classic massage. The technique aims to promote relaxation by releasing muscle tension.

Swedish massage is gentler than deep tissue massage and better suited for people interested in relaxation and tension relief.

Indian Head Massage

Indian head massage, as the name indicates, originated from India and is a beautifully traditional practice that is now immensely popular amongst Western cultures. This is due to its simplicity and portability, that allows it to be utilised anywhere and everywhere, making relaxation and holistic wellness more accessible for everyone.

It focuses on massaging acupressure points along the head, neck, and shoulders, often using circular massage strokes to improve hair and scalp condition.

Hot and Cold Stone Massage

A hot stone massage is a type of massage therapy. It’s used to help you relax and ease tense muscles and damaged soft tissues throughout your body.

During a hot stone massage, smooth, flat, heated stones are placed on specific parts of your body. The stones are usually made of basalt, a type of volcanic rock that retains heat. The stones may be placed along your spine, on your stomach, on your our chest, on your face, on your palms, and/or on your feet and toes.

Sometimes, cold stones are also used during a hot stone massage. Cold stones may be used after hot stones to calm any engorged blood vessels and to soothe the skin.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage offers both physical and psychological benefits. It can relieve muscle pain and stiffness and provide stress-relieving relaxation for the body and mind.

Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that’s mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues. This helps to break up scar tissue that forms following an injury and reduce tension in muscle and tissue.

It may also promote faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.

The massage therapist will warm up your muscles using a lighter touch. Once you’re warmed up, they’ll start working on your problem areas. They’ll use deep kneading and stroking with varying amounts of intense pressure.
